Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use our website. This statement explains how the site has been made accessible and which shortcomings we know about.

Goal

The site has been designed and built to meet level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.

How the site has been made accessible

  • The whole site can be used with a keyboard, and the keyboard focus is clearly visible.
  • Every page starts with a link that takes you straight to the main content.
  • Pages are structured with headings and regions (language selection, main menu, main content, footer). Every page has one main heading.
  • The site is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. The language of each page is marked in the code so that screen readers pronounce the text correctly. Names and quotes in other languages are marked too.
  • The contrast between text and background is at least 4.5:1. Links are underlined, so they are not identified by colour alone.
  • Text can be enlarged and the page zoomed up to 400% without losing content or having to scroll sideways.
  • Images have text alternatives. Purely decorative images and emojis are hidden from screen readers.
  • Menus open when you press them, not when you hover over them, and they close with the Esc key.
  • The site has no animations, no sound or video that starts automatically and no time limits.
  • Fonts are loaded from our own server, not from third-party services.

Known shortcomings

  • Some of the Swedish and English texts are new translations that have not yet been reviewed. Please let us know if you find mistakes.
  • Some links lead to external services such as forms, Google documents and social media. We cannot affect how accessible they are.
  • The site has no content in easy-to-read language or in sign language.

About this statement

This statement was prepared on 27 October 2026. The assessment is based on the site builders' own testing: automated checks with the axe tool and testing with the keyboard, zoom and a narrow screen.
