We do organization work at our own crip pace and you can participate as much or as little as you want! At Crip Students, we want to create operating practices that genuinely enable the participation of people who deviate from the performer norm, not only as participants but also as organisers. The goal is to organize activities from us to us, and the prerequisite for this is that organizing is also accessible for us
Many of us have felt that the field of (student) organizations is inaccessible, and its fast pace of work and long days have made participation impossible for many of us. We have a lot to do from running our social media accounts to organizing events, but you will never be asked to work alone or beyond your limits. Because we all have different accessibility needs and strengths, a small task for yourself, such as opening a door or starting a conversation, can enable another person to participate and, for example, make the entire event possible. You don’t have to be a student or identify as crip to join, come as you are!
How to get involved?
Become a member
Membership is free, and you can join using an online form.
By becoming a member, you help us to receive organisational grants based on visitor numbers and at the same time you get the right to run for the board and vote at our meetings! We will also send you a link to our Telegram group if you want to join it!

If it’s more accessible for you than using the REDCap form, you can also join as a member by emailing the following information to us at rampaopiskelijat@proton.me. You can write “becoming member” as the email subject.

- Student number, if you are a student
- Hometown
- Do you study at the University of Helsinki? (Yes or no, for the statistics)
- Do you want to join our open Telegram group? If yes, send us your phone number or let us know so we can send you the joining link!
Become a support member
It’s also possible to join as a support member with the amount of your choosing. Both individuals and organisations can become support members. If you are interested, send us an email at rampaopiskelijat@proton.me. Thank you for your support!
Telegram group
In our members’ Telegram chat group you’ll get up-to-date information about our organisation and get to know fellow crips In addition to official events, we announce opportunities for participation there, for example, doing social media posts and organising events. It’s a very low-threshold opportunity to get to know the organisation without any commitment. We’ll send you the link once you become a member and are happy to help you install Telegram!
E-mail list
The Crip Students Organisation has a mailing list provided by the University of Helsinki. Information relevant to members is shared on the list, and every member is added to the list automatically.
You can also join our Majordomo mailing list yourself:
- Send an email to majordomo@helsinki.fi. Leave the subject of the message blank and write in the message field: “subscribe rampaopiskelijat-ry [your email address from which you are sending the message]”.
- You will receive a reply message containing a long code.
- Confirm your subscription to the list by replying to the message: “auth [code] subscribe rampaopiskelijat-ry”.

We inform about upcoming events and other stuff also on Facebook and Instagram. You can find us on Instagram with the name Rampaopiskelijat, and on Facebook we are Rampaopiskelijat ry.
